In depth

Verdict

Key Time came good on his final start last term when upped to two miles for the first time and Sir Mark Prescott's lightly raced gelding has an obvious chance of making a winning return off just a 3lb higher mark with the main dangers looking to be Bronze Dancer and Cripsey Brook. The last mentioned has claims at the weights but has yet to prove his effectiveness over this far and is probably best watched on his first start beyond 1m6f. Mr Majestic showed improved form when stepped up to two miles for the first time at Ripon recently but has more to do off a 3lb higher mark today. Thewhirlingdervish is hard to recommend on recent evidence and a bigger threat may come from Bronze Dancer, who would have claims if staying. There are no stamina doubts concerning Key Time though and he gets the vote.
