In depth

Verdict

Eta Draconis, a half-brother by Daylami to Moon Ballad, would have to be of interest on his debut but a doubt remains concerning the general form of Godolphin's horses and a safer bet looks to be Mobaasher, who is preferred to Hyperalert. The selection has shown promise on both starts so far, latterly behind a useful Gosden horse Numeric at Chepstow and it will take a good one to beat Sir Michael Stoute's colt on the evidence of those two runs. Alan Swinbank runs bumper winner Barton Belle on the flat for the first time and while she should win races on the level this would look to be too tough an assignment for the daughter of Barathea. Mark Johnston's Hyperalert is an interesting newcomer and cannot be completely discounted but Mobaasher sets a decent standard and he gets the vote.
