In depth
Verdict
David Barron has been a very profitable trainer to follow with his three-year-olds at this course and we take the view that his Sweet Potato is the one to beat here. Waterloo Corner and Chief Dipper have been in good form on the all weather and, along with the unexposed Dan's Heir can give the selection plenty to think about. Dan's Heir put his best effort for a while when finishing second in a tough handicap at Wolverhampton in January. He hails from a yard that have to be respected at this time of year and any each way support for him would be dangerous to ignore. Paul Hanagan has got on well with Chief Dipper of late and his mount should make a bold bid to land his three-timer this afternoon. However, he lacks experience of the turf and others may have an edge on him as things unfold. Waterloo Corner also has a similar profile and is therefore a risky proposition for win only purposes. So we switch to Sweet Potato, who arrives here in good heart, should appreciate the step up in trip and has the benefit of three previous visits to Redcar to draw from.
