In depth

Verdict

This is a fascinating two-year-old event that should mainly concern Familiar Affair and La Coruna, with preference going to the latter. Roger Charlton doesn't have too many runners here at Redcar and his filly, who landed a Lingfield maiden in terrific style last time, can give him a rare success here. Familiar Affair also won on his debut, beating Jarvo by a neck up at Thirsk, Bryan Smart's colt is certain to improve and can make the selection fight all the way. Of the others Darting is certain to come on for debut run at Newmarket where he was doing his best work at the end when finishing third behind Valjarve, but on this occasion the choice has to be La Coruna.
