Verdict

A competitive contest despite just seven runners here and preference is for JUDICIARY, with Shimmering Moment an obvious threat and Gold Rules another for the short-list. The last-named is saddled by Luca Cumani, whose runners are in superb form at present, and his charge has to concede weight to everything else in the field. He is certainly not discounted from doing that, now that he is stepped up to what should be an ideal 10f. Shimmering Moment makes her handicap debut after scoring on fast ground over this trip in a Salisbury maiden last time. Her mark of 81 is fair enough and she looks likely to have a big say. Aquarian Spirit has not yet won a handicap and may again go close without winning until he slips a little further in the weights, and the same applies to Beneath, so we will side with Judiciary. The Godolphin colt followed up a Southwell maiden win with a game success on his handicap debut at York last time. He has been raised just 4lbs for that win, and with conditions again to suit, he can build on that and follow-up.
