        Verdict

        Eleven of the fourteen runners have won off higher marks including the veteran Pearl Noir, who has won twice around here and is still capable of a big run. Lydiate Lady is the other course and distance winner in the line-up and she's very well handicapped at her best though on a long losing run. OPTIMICKSTICKHILL had been racing mainly at Southwell without showing much but it was a different matter at Beverley last week where she finished with a real rattle over that stiff 5f. Providing Kieran O'Neill can get her going earlier she can take this off the same mark. Funkadelic returned from a break to run a solid race at Hamilton last month so connections will be delighted to see her dropped 1lb. She's an obvious threat and should take care of fourth-placed Kodimoor on that run.
