In depth

Verdict

In an interesting opener, Broken Applause is selected ahead of Anosti and Unilateral. Broken Applause has shown solid form in each start, having finished second to Captain Gerrard last time, and that horse went on to finish third at Goodwood last week. He looks to be the one to beat. Sudden Impact came good at Thirsk last time, having been overfaced at Listed level in two previous runs. He holds a chance here, while Anosti won well on her Hamilton debut and looks pretty decent. Calmdownmate finished second at Newmarket last time and the form received a boost at Goodwood last week, while Unilateral also looked pretty good when winning at Ayr last time when stepped up to this trip for the first time. Finally, Dry Speedfit was not disgraced in Group company last time when stepped up to seven furlongs but, for the selection, we will stick with Broken Applause.
