A decent contest where DISCANTI is preferred to Pearly Wey, while Coleorton Choice is considered a danger. The selection met with traffic problems at Thirsk last time when he was unable to deliver his challenge until it was too late, and went down by just a short head. Fast ground is not a problem for him, although he has raced almost exclusively over 5f so far, so this is a bit of a gamble. However, pedigree suggests that it won't inconvenience and only the race itself will provide the answer. Pearly Wey officially finished a 10-length seventh to Bond City in a similar race here last time, and he has gone up 2lbs for that. His effort was significantly better than the bare figures suggest as he was drawn on the wrong side that day and finished second in his group. Coleorton Choice has a course and distance win to his name and acts on the ground, while he is now back on a winning mark. We expect to see better from him than he has shown of late. Haajes was not far behind Pearly Wey in that recent race here and has to be respected, while Brierty is consistent in finding one or two too good, but has clear frame claims from a low draw. An interesting race can go to Discanti.
