Verdict

Barry Hills has an excellent strike rate with his three-year-olds at this track with 36 per cent of them winning, and he looks to have found a good opportunity for BONHEURS ART to finally break her duck, while Whitechapel and Kielder are interesting opponents. There is not a lot of strength-in-depth on the face of it here, and while it is often the route to the poorhouse to be backing a five-time loser at short prices, trip and ground will suit the selection, who is battle-hardened and has shown enough ability so far to suggest that tonight can be her night. Whitechapel is far less exposed and after one run at two, he came back with an improved effort at Pontefract last time. The way he stayed on that day suggested that he will want further than this to be seen to best effect, while fast ground is of no concern and he looks the main danger. Newcomer Kielder hails from a stable going well and is worth a market check, while the same applies to debutant Jack Bell, who is related to winners. The return to this trip should suit Regal Emperor, while Interest Free would probably want slower ground, and Bonheurs Art is preferred.
