VENTURA ROYAL made a very promising return to action at Beverley, making the running until caught close home over that extended 1m2f so this trip should suit. Ascot Week couldn't quite get past Pudding Chare at Ayr but was conceding 12lb though a 4lb rise looks harsh. Glaceon landed a maiden handicap at Redcar for which she's only gone up 1lb while Kannapolis is slowly slipping in the weights though he's still 7lb higher than his last victory. Flying Raconteur was only beaten just over a length in that former event, his first start since December 2017, and could provide the main threat. Twin Appeal is 2lb lower than his last victory and can give a good account but Mac Ailey tackles older horses for the first time and this looks a tough ask.
