Verdict
A poor contest that looks to be a match between Billy One Punch and Algharb and we take the latter to come out on top. Algharb showed that he had learned plenty from his Doncaster debut, when running on for second over seven furlongs at Thirsk last time. The drop back in trip should not be a problem, and fast ground appears to suit, so he can score here under Willie Supple. The drop back in trip may not be quite so good for Billy One Punch, who is bred to be competing at around a mile, and has already done so. Faster ground will definitely be more to his liking than the soft he has run on so far, so that may elicit some improvement, though not enough to trouble the selection. Little else makes appeal ,with perhaps Dium Mac suggested to make the frame, but Peter Chapple-Hyam looks to have a good opportunity for Algharb to break his duck.
