Verdict
Probably the weaker of the two divisions and STRONG VIGILANCE is preferred to Khandaq and Celendine. Michael Bell's charge was campaigned in a tough Doncaster maiden on debut and was far from disgraced. The evidence of the dam side of the pedigree is that this step up in trip should prove no barrier. Khandaq seems a certain miler on pedigree. He has clearly taken time to come to hand. Celendine ran no sort of race on debut at Hamilton though the experience will not have been lost. David Barron's horses have been finishing close up so do not dismiss the sprint led pedigree of Ezra Church. Director General is related to a number of milers in the USA and the market will tell us whether the racing club are having a bet. This division looks significantly weaker than the first and for the winner we return to Strong Vigilance.
