In depth

Verdict

A big field but not much strength in depth to this staying handicap. Snoano broke slowly in the Old Newton Cup and may be better than the bare form of that race suggests, although he does look handicapped to the hilt. Dance King has tended to struggle at this level in the past, while Soldier In Action has looked out of sorts since his Doncaster win. Former hurdler SINDARBAN has won two out of two on his return to the flat for Keith Dalgleish and it would be no surprise to see him improve again for the extra furlong after staying on stoutly over 1m3f last time. Mark Johnston’s three-year-old Welford was out of his depth at Pattern class but showed modest signs of a return to form when keeping on over 1m2f at Newmarket and has place claims.
