Verdict
David O’Meara has a good record in the race and won it with HORTZADAR last year. The latter hasn’t won since but is back on the same mark now and was placed at Thirsk last time. Stablemate Young Fire drops in class on his return to the Turf and is preferred to a third O’Meara runner in Blonde Warrior while dual novice winner Fred returns to action with a chance and makes more appeal than stable companion Oasis Prince. Hesslewood may figure back over a mile today but Garden Oasis could only manage third in last year’s renewal when ahead of Fennaan.
