There is a large turnout for the finale, an apprentice handicap, but the majority are a poor bunch and we will be surprised if Quiet Times and King of Peru are not involved in the finish. The latter was entitled to need the run when finishing last of 18 on his return to action at Pontefract recently, and, a back-to-back winner on fast ground last autumn, will improve a lot. Nicholls also runs Ballybunion and the market should be watched where he is concerned. Quiet Times looks the one to be on though. A beaten favourite at Nottingham three weeks ago, he nevertheless ran with credit in third and might have been closer had he not drifted across the track in the final two furlongs. A winner over the course and distance for Tim Easterby last August, admittedly on soft ground, Kevin Ryan¿s charge has been in good form on the all-weather and meets lots of out of sorts rivals here.
