It was heavy ground when Dandyleekie won his first start for David O’Meara in this race last year. He subsequently won off today’s mark at Haydock later in the season but it could pay to stick with ALKHOR in this. Richard Hannon’s charge is penalised for last week’s victory on the Polytrack at Lingfield but has had just three previous starts on Turf and there should be more to come from him. Salvatore Fury was a length behind the selection last time while Rantan and Straightothepoint were both thereabouts last year off similar marks and the latter beat Dandyleekie here in May. Magical Effect has yet to win a handicap but remains unexposed and could go well on his return.
