Verdict
It was soft going when Appointed scored over track and trip in June though he’s still preferred to stable companion Multellie. The ground was also testing when Marengo finished runner-up at Chester while Battle Of Wills will need to dig a bit deeper off his current mark having found one too good here on his penultimate start. Rowland Ward won over today’s trip at Doncaster earlier but has been absent since returning a losing favourite over 1m6f at Sandown in May and IDEALOGICAL has the more recent form. Mark Johnston’s filly appreciated the extra test of stamina when headed at the post on fast ground over course and distance earlier in the month and can race off the same mark today.
