        Verdict

        A large field goes to post for the first on the card and the market could be an informative guide as to what is expected of the newcomers, with those already having had a run not looking up to much. However the principals look to be Wanchai Lad, Forzenuff, and Maunby Raver and we will take a chance on Wanchai Lad. The colt from the Alan Jarvis yard is a half brother to the winning five year old Princes Theater and he will not have to be out of the top draw to win this on his debut. Forzenuff rates the main danger on his latest fourth behind Tribute he is sure to have come on for the run and as he has more experience than more of these he will not be far away. Maunby Raver has shown a modicum of ability and is another that has place claims but he may do better in handicaps. Of the other newcomers -Philharmonic and Sujosise are from yards that can ready debutantes and are worth noting in the market but we are happy to side with Wanchai Lad.
