In depth
Verdict
Philharmonic has looked special on his two racecourse starts and while he should improve with age, we think he should be good enough to land this prize. Oro Verde carries top-weight and while he possesses ability, he hasn't reproduced anything like the form that handed Majestic Missile a beating in a Windsor maiden. Desperate Dan landed some nice bets on debut at Lingfield but was a subsequent disappointment in the Doncaster St Leger Yearling Stakes. Sweet Reply won convincingly in a Redcar maiden and while her subsequent effort at York was instantly forgettable - she will be suited by the smaller field. Salut Saint Cloud doesn't look good enough while Mission Affirmed is given a tough introduction. Philarmonic looks the one to be on if he is on song today.
