Verdict
A poor start to the day and a race that can be taken by Think Quick, with Manx Fizz and Ultra Marine likely to be in the shake-up. The selection has got stamina on her side here, being proven over this trip and also over the track, when second here to Blackwater Fever in a seller in July. That effort was off a mark of 45, and from 1lb lower here she will take plenty of beating in what is a very moderate race indeed, with the only slight question being about her ability on fast ground. Manx Fizz also comes into calculations from a little higher up the weights. The Efisio filly will certainly appreciate the quicker conditions and is dropping down the weights after some ordinary recent efforts. A 5lb claim will help her cause here, but she is far from a guaranteed stayer and while we expect her to go well, she is likely to run out of gas in the closing stages. Of the remainder, top weight Ultra Marine would have these for breakfast on some of his old form, but John Wainwright's colt has not tumbled through the weights for nothing. Badly out of form throughout the summer, he is thrown in if he can produce anything like his ability but punters are taking a huge risk gambling on that. Nevertheless he is a capable sort at this level and still has to merit some respect, but we are happy to side with Think Quick.
