In depth

Verdict

The winner of a maiden in Ireland, Love Triangle looks to have plenty on his plate giving weight away all round, but his run at York, in a better race than this was a decent effort, and off the same mark here is sure to be involved, however, handicap debutante Queenstown looks the one to be with. Outclassed, but not disgraced in a valuable contest at Ascot, Brian Meehan's colt had previously made Prince Of Thebes pull out all the stops at Epsom, despite clearly not handling the undulations at the Surrey venue. The third that day Papeete has since scored, giving the form a boost and while the Handicapper looks to have taken no chances in alotting him a mark of 85, he is open to improvement. Bailaora is another to make his Nursery debut and has shown enough to suggest he can make his mark. However, as he is out of a mare that stayed middle-distances, he may do better when faced with a stiffer test. Bee Minor doesn't look good enough at this level, while Zweibrucken may be flattered by her run at Folkestone, where she had the best of the draw. Jamie Osbourne relies on Rules For Jokers from two entries, but he will have to find improvement if he is to trouble the best of these, but a case can be made for the lightly weighted Eezza Geezer, whoose defeat of Rabitatit was made to look better when the latter scrambled home in a seller last week. Off a mark of 71 he is sure to make his presence felt, but this is something of a drop in class for Queenstown, who is taken to get off the mark.
