In depth

Verdict

Airlift looked in need of this sort of trip when staying on behind the odds-on Keats over a mile at Gowran but AVARICE finished runner-up in another division of the Gowran event with Ballinlough Gale a length back in third and Ashatarak close behind. All three are entitled to improve but the runner-up was staying on strongly and can go one better. Bolivar made a reasonable debut in a Leopardstown maiden that is working out well while Call Me Rocky ran well at Dundalk in November and, with his yard in top form, has to be respected. Castel Gandolfo very nearly made all at Gowran last month and wouldn't need much more to gain compensation.
