Verdict

Well Why Not made most and battled back when headed over this trip at Navan and a 6lb rise is unlikely to prevent another big run. Machiavelli has been steadily improving and wasn't beaten far when stepped up to this trip at Leopardstown and that will have blown the cobwebs away. He easily holds Tullyallen on that form. REMMY D finished 7l behind For Pleasure when the latter won easily at Navan but the winner had a 9lb rise to overcome on his next start at Limerick and the positions were reversed. Joseph O'Brien's charge looks ready to lose his maiden tag in first-time blinkers.
