Verdict

Kansas City Chief was in the lead briefly at this trip in the Killarney National but couldn't hold the late thrust of Auvergnat, who stayed on very strongly. The winner has a 9lb rise to contend with and may not be up to conceding a stone to Carole Rose. Liam Casey's mare got up close home over the course and distance last month and with just 3lb extra can reach the frame. Static Jack has only run twice over fences and may not have the experience for this but Net D'ecosse only just failed to concede Swantykay 12lb at Down Royal and should be in the shake-up. Anything Davy Russell rides at the moment has to be respected and ON FIDDLERS GREEN is perfectly capable of giving him another victory. Henry De Bromhead's charge beat a big field at Galway in July and will have needed his run at Punchestown in April after a long break.
