A moderate staying handicap that can go to the improving Caesarean Hunter, who gets the vote over old campaigners Bold Ewar and Giko. The selection showed improved form for the step up to this trip on the Polytrack at Lingfield last time and, off a 3lb lower mark here, looks worth chancing in a race that should not take a great deal of winning. Top weight Bold Ewar is capable of taking a hand but is not the most reliable of customers. Giko is a consistent performer and entitled to be thereabouts on his best form but the nine-year-old is tackling today's trip for the first time here and is not certain to stay. Three-year-olds are always worth a second look at this stage in the season when taking on older horses but few of the classic generation here make much appeal with Desert Quill probably the pick of them. He should improve for the longer trip but has shown little worthwhile form so far. The consistent Hefin and lightweight Peggy Lou are others worthy of a mention but Caesarean Hunter has solid claims and should be difficult to beat in a poor contest.
