In depth

Verdict

Trianon probably has a tough task off top-weight in this handicap, although further improvement is likely, and so the safer option may be to side with Summer Winds ahead of Monterrico. The selection has been in good form on the all-weather so far this season, winning his second start and then following it up with a good second at Kempton. That seemed to suggest that he can land a race off this current mark of 76, and he looks to have a fair chance in what looks an open race. Trianon showed a battling attitude when winning at Nottingham last time out and he shapes as if this longer trip will suit, whilst Mcconnell is very consistent and whilst he is ultimately yet to win in six starts, if the money comes then he could pop up. The Name Is Frank has won at the track before but will have to be primed in order to take this race on his first run this season, whilst Rich Kid hasn't gone on as may have been hoped when he made his debut last season. John Dunlop's pair have claims, with bottom weight looking attractive as each makes their handicap bow, whilst Monterrico is well thought-of and is proven on the ground and over this trip. Not an easy race for punters, but Summer Winds is fancied to score.
