Verdict
Several in-form sprinters make this a competitive contest with Type One, Loch Inch and Hawk among the more likely suspects, but a chance is taken with Tripti to confirm the impression made when running on strongly, after being outpaced, at Newmarket back in June. Although she has been beaten in three efforts since then there have been valid excuses, rain-softened ground at Lingfield, upset in the stalls at Bath and finding the sharp five-furlongs too sharp for her at Goodwood. She has eased a little in the handicap, has a decent draw here and will be doing her best work at the end of this stiffer five-furlongs. Type One, lightly raced this year has been in cracking form this summer and although he has to shoulder a penalty here, he is sure to go well from a favourable draw. Claimed for ¿10000 after winner a claimer at Catterick last month, Hawk has his first outing for new connections. Up until that victory he had proved very disappointing and may not be one to place too much faith in. Palawan goes well for an apprentice and looks sure to run his race, but we will stick with Tripti to regain the winning thread off only a 2lbs higher mark than when last successful.
