        Verdict

        There are plenty in with chances in this six-furlong handicap and Thurlestone Rock is not selected with any real confidence. Looking at the runners. Caustic Wit has been raised 10 pounds for winning his last two races on Turf, and he could have better to come. Trainer Malcolm Saunders has done well to freshen him up again and, given that the gelding was rated a lot higher a couple of years ago, it would be folly to rule out another big run here. Parkside Pursuit has won two of his last three races and is also a course and distance winner. Given that he is now rated just three pounds higher than for his best previous win, he could also go well. Hey Presto is another to have lost his way of late but, given that he is now back to a winning mark for his course and distance victory of last year, he too could go well. Another to consider, of course, is Thurlestone Rock, who is now rated just two-pounds higher than for his Kempton win last October, and who should strip fitter for his seasonal return 10 days ago. Najeebon is also back to a winning mark and Tahirah, who has won three of her eight career starts and was considered good enough to run in Listed company last season, cannot be discounted either Also, do not rule out Complication, who now looks to be getting her act together, while Coranglais has chances at his best but has been out of form lately. As you can tell from all of the above, this race is pretty competitive but we will side with Thurlestone Rock.
