Northside Lodge is the pick ahead of Bamzooki, Future Deal and Champion Lion in an open looking handicap. Walter Swinburn is having a fine season, sending out a steady stream of winners, and Northside Lodge could be ready to add to the tally judged on his latest narrow defeat by Del Mar Sunset at Brighton a week ago. He has not won for three years now but is well handicapped, so a repeat of that latest run could be enough. Bamzooki is still a maiden but is lightly-raced and open to improvement. She overcame a tardy start to finish third at Yarmouth and is not over burdened here. Future Deal is nothing special but may well appreciate the step back up in trip, and it would be no surprise if she were to reach the frame at least. Champion Lion probably needs to come down the weights, but may return fresher than most and is not one to rule out completely, but Northside Lodge has the recent form and sets the standard.
