        Verdict

Cacophonous never threatened to take a hand in the finish over 1m2f at Newbury last month but kept on into third, suggesting the extra quarter-mile will suit. Firlinfeu was only caught close home at Ripon last time while King Lud has shown a consistent level of form in his three runs to date, though isn’t certain to appreciate the step up to 1m4f. The once-raced Dubawi colts Recordman and POLISH might be the pair to concentrate on. Both are related to winners and open to improvement with the former a half-brother to the stable’s Memorial Day. But the latter is a half-brother to Roger Charlton’s useful middle-distance performer Ply and was very green before running on when it was too late at Ascot.
