In a race where it is hard to get too excited about many of the runners, Redi gets the call ahead of Alfridini, Joy And Pain, Kitley and Nine Red. The selection showed improvement over a mile at Ripon last time and today's stiff mile could suit him better. Also, being from the Luca Cumani stable, he should have improvement to come and, to be fair, the opposition is not the strongest. Alfridini had his first run on Turf last time out, but that was over 12 furlongs. Based on his all-weather form over today's mile trip, he cannot be ruled out of things. Joy And Pain is lightly raced and open to further improvement and also looks likely to feature here, while Kitley is another to consider following his never-nearer sixth to subsequent scorer Lady Georgina at Lingfield in May. From the Barry Hills stable, Nine Red is one to watch out for in the betting, but Three Welshmen is maybe better on soft going. Overall, Fuel Cell possibly has a little to prove on his handicap debut and it is hard to build a compelling case for the others, which brings us back to Redi, who has the added advantage of the services of Nicky Mackay.
