In depth

Verdict

A fairly tight handicap where most of the field bar those at the bottom of the weights have decent claims of landing the spoils. However, Colourful Lady and Frankie Dettori look to be an interesting paring and the former champion jockey can expand upon his eighteen per cent strike-rate from his mounts this season. Strathspey has a little to prove at the weights so Scotish Law, who should be ready for this after a blow out over hurdles at Stratford earlier in the season, may give the selection the most to do. A case can also be made for Andromache and any market confidence should not be underestimated. But Colourful Lady is less exposed than most of these and she may have too much toe for her rivals over this trip.
