        Verdict

        AMADEUS WOLFE TONE keeps threatening to land a decent handicap but is finding it tough to get his head in front but maybe James Doyle can produce him at the right moment here. Certainly a reproduction of his penultimate run when only denied by Campanology in a close finish in a competitive Newmarket contest would be good enough, whilst he's handicapped to finish upsides his latest conqueror, Serene Oasis, on recent HQ running. However, the Channon filly is both a steady improver and really tough stick and seems sure to give another good account despite a 5lb rise for that success. The handicapper looked to have got hold of Ivor's Princess last time and Whimsical, improved on her latest outing, is a likelier shortlist candidate.
