Verdict
Mister Flint created a favourable impression when beaten half-a-length by Brankley Boy at Wincanton last month in what looked a decent race and is given the vote to go one better here. The Philip Hobbs-trained five-year-old is entitled to strip fitter for the outing and, with the stable in better heart now, it will take a good one to beat him. Nicky Henderson has a good line to the selection for Royal Rosa having trained the Wincanton winner but the four-year-old was disappointing in an admittedly better race than this over course and distance last month. The Venetia Williams-trained Meggie's Lad has more to do under a penalty than when winning at Southwell previously and a bigger danger may come from one of the newcomers, with Gary Moore's Brave Caradoc, a son of Un Desperado, looking the pick of them.
