    Verdict

General was a progressive type last season and is the TEAMtalk choice to make a winning handicap bow against modest rivals. The son of Cadeaux Genereux has won three of his last four starts over timber and, being lightly raced, looks open to further improvement so should prove hard to beat on his favoured ground. Hawadeth shaped well on his comeback when third at Aintree in May but has not been out since so may have had a problem and is best watched on this occasion but Barcelona was just touched off last time at kempton and is entitled to respect despite a subsequent 5lb rise.
