          Verdict

          San Antonio has been in fine form of late but Pam Sly's gelding gave the impression at Ripon last time that he may now be in the grip of the handicapper and preference is for Uhoomagoo, who gets the vote ahead of Stage Secret. The booking of Frankie Dettori for the last mentioned takes the eye and, with Emma Lavelle's colt having his ideal ground conditions, he looks to hold solid claims. Ian Semple's Appalachian Trail just failed to collar Vortex in a similar contest at Newmarket last time but is now 2lbs higher, while Polar Magic has paid the penalty at the hands of the assessor for his consistency and may be too high in the weights now. Richard Hannon's Red Spell has more to do than when scoring at Goodwood last time and of more interest may be Roger Charlton's Presumptive, who should appreciate the drop back in trip to seven furlongs. The vote though goes to Kevin Ryan's Uhoomagoo, who never got competitive in a falsely run race at Epsom last time and is worth another chance over his optimum trip with a decent pace sure to suit.
