In depth

Verdict

Deo Valente, Astrodonna and Diamond Yas are the trio to look at here, with Diamond Yas taken to follow up a first time out success. A winner at Wolverhampton as a juvenile, Astrodonna turned in a fine display to be a staying on second in a big field at Newmarket. She has been raised four pounds, but she must go well and is respected. Deo Valente will be sharper for his seasonal debut at Newmarket, where he was outpaced in the closing stages. He seems to be high enough in the weights on this, his handicap debut, but can reach the frame with that run under his belt. After a promising run as a juvenile at Yarmouth where she finished third, Diamond Yas made no mistake on her only other run when scoring in good style at Warwick. She may not have beaten much but the manner of the win was impressive. Diamond Yas can land her second race in succession.
