Verdict
Little Edward has figured prominently in ante-post lists for the big sprint handicaps and is anticipated to take this at the expense of Golden Bounty and OK Pal. Brendan Powell's charge still holds an entry in the Wokingham Handicap and he will simply need to beat these in order to stand any chance in the Ascot cavalry charge. He has winning form over this course and has already run fair races in defeat at Chester and Kempton this term. The only negative is that he does tend to pull hard in the early stages of his races and Liam Keniry will need to keep him in check through the first couple of furlongs. Golden Bounty is unfavoured at the weights but does pop up now and again. He does tend to have left himself a lot to do in his recent races although generally speaking, his better form is when there are fewer runners in opposition. Terry Mills will be raindancing for his OK Pal. The horse has ability but would be a significantly greater danger were the ground to be soft. New Foundation is a Richard Hannon cast-off. He stayed on to be fourth at Kempton to Mister Malarkey last time out but that form just isn't good enough in the context of this race. Buckle In Baby and Riva Royale are hard to make cases for.
