        Verdict

        Mark Johnston's highly regarded Leo's Lucky Star puts his reputation on the line in a cracking looking renewal of the Solario Stakes but may not be appreciative of the testing conditions and preference is for Johnny Jumpup, who is preferred to Windsor Knot. The selection may have been flattered by his victory over subsequent Coventry Stakes winner on his Bath debut but a later victory here over six furlongs confirms Ralph Beckett's colt as the leading juvenile in this field. The soft ground will hold no fears for the son of Pivotal, who should appreciate this stiffer test of stamina. Clive Brittain's Fox is a consistent performer and is entitled to be thereabouts again. He strictly holds York winner Pivotal Flame on running at Newmarket. The Peter Harris-trained Propinquity was a little disappointing at Ascot last time but should not be discounted although a bigger threat may come from Windsor Knot. John Gosden should have a good line to the selection through Iceman and this colt should improve further granted a stiffer test of stamina. Silver Wraith is more exposed than most, while Embossed does not look good enough to trouble Johnny Jumpup who gets the vote.
