Verdict
Faayej has been given a break by Sir Michael Stoute since his fourth over course and distance in June and, on a softer surface, is taken to open his account for the campaign at the main expense of Silent Hawk and Deep Purple. The last mentioned could be anything having won his only start, a Kempton maiden, last month but faces no easy task against more experienced handicappers on his debut in the grade. Silvaline has struggled against the handicapper since winning here last month, while recent Newmarket winner Barry Island has yet to prove his effectiveness on ground this soft. Desert Island Disc has been well placed to win three of her last four starts but this looks tougher and of more interest may be Godolphin's Silent Hawk, especially now that he tackles a softer surface. Breathing Sun showed improvement last time and has to be respected on the pick of his form from a lightweight, while a market move for Miss Pebbles would be of interest. Sir Michael Stoute's horses could hardly be in better form at present though and Faayej is taken to give weight away all round.
