Verdict

Colonial Dreams would have a chance in this on his second at Ascot in January but he let supporters down last time at Taunton. Commanche Red has won over the trip but his recent victory at Wincanton came over 2m. Dan Mcgrue has had a light campaign so should be interesting and That's A Given is improving judged on his win at Wincanton. But Philip Hobbs also runs WAIT FOR ME, the winner of this in 2017 when a pound higher. He’s not won this season but hasn’t been running badly and this may have been the long-term target. River Frost has ability but has been hard to train and really needs some help from the handicapper.
