Verdict
Sandown maidens usually produce a number of winners and this one should be no different. With Kieren Fallon booked, the Sir Michael Stoute newcomer, Promotion, who is by Sadler's Wells out of a Shirley Heights, gets the selection. The trainer also runs the beautifully-bred Faayej, another Sadler's Wells colt - out of a Nijinsky mare - who is owned by Hamdan al Maktoum. He too is of interest. Stoute's third runner, Argonaut, looks the least-fancied of the trio. Henry Cecil's Bagan and Pat Chaming's Lifted Way could notch a place but David Elsworth's promising Salisbury third Petrosa rates the danger to the selection.
