Verdict
A number of these are open to improvement as they step up in trip but Askar Tau has already proven her stamina and gets the nod ahead of Cape Colony and Rock Peak. The handicapper took a dim view of the selection's success as she races here from an 11lb higher mark but the ease of her win warranted such a rise and she looks progressive. The fourth has won since to add some substance to the form and she may have a bit more in the locker. Cape Colony has performed admirably this year and may progress for this longer trip but he will need to if he's to confirm Pontefract form with My Mate Max who is 4lbs better off for a neck and also tackling this trip for the first time. Riverscape is another that meets Cape Colony on better terms than earlier in the season and should benefit from stepping up in trip whilst Rock Peak had Dubai Petal and Benhego behind last time. Cheekpieces and a longer trip may help to bring about the best in Hughie Morrison's runner and he's yet another to bear in mind. Support for Dixie Dean on his handicap bow would be of obvious interest but we'll take our chance with the progressive Askar Tau.
