In depth
Verdict
Sue Smith runs Cerendipity, a useful novice hurdler last season, and Parelliroc with Daryl Jacob partnering the former. Special Rate won twice over hurdles in May before making a winning debut over fences at Hexham but he’s never raced on going this soft whereas UPAGAINSTIT (NAP) won on soft ground at Warwick in March and had every chance when falling at the last in a better race at Haydock the following month. He’s been given plenty of time to recover and may still be on a fair mark. Fils De Roi was highly tried over hurdles last season after winning at Huntingdon and would be a threat to all if taking to fences.
