In depth

Verdict

A chance is taken with Bobby Brown, who has scope to better the effort consented to show last time and is selected in preference to Arctic Lagoon and the veteran Pangeran, who will be waiting in the wings to pounce on any weaknesses. Pangeran has been around for a long time and is a wily as they come. He is also holding his form well enough to be respected in this company. Arctic Lagoon has been hard to win with this season and has a slightly frustrating profile. However, he has also dropped to a very attractive mark and it would come as no surprise to see him involved in the thick of the action today. Even so, Bobby Brown makes more appeal as betting proposition, as we are yet to see the best of Pat Haslam's new recruit. The fitting of a tongue tie and blinkers suggest that he needs a little help in his races. However, he also appeals as one that is likely to thrive for a change in scenery and is no forlorn hope to make the frame in an event like this.
