Verdict
Just For Fun, Tam O'Shanter, Son Of Ross and Athenry Gent look the most likely contenders, with preference going the side of Just for Fun. The selection lost nothing in defeat to hot-pot Harrovian at Hexham on his most recent outing, and this trip of nearly three and a half miles will suit him down to the ground. Ferdy Murphy has also secured the services of Tony Dobbin that can only highlight the fact that this horse has a serious chance today. Tam O' Shanter looked in need of every yard of the two and a half miles at Chepstow on his latest outing and although he ran well, this trip will suit him better. Son Of Ross loves this track and ran a good second over course and distance on his penultimate start before disappointing over too short a trip on his latest run. He will be happier today. Athenry Gent is having his first outing in handicap-company after three modest runs for Howard Johnson. He has a nice racing weight and who knows, could be one step ahead of the handicapper. To conclude, Just For Fun can oblige for the Murphy-Dobbin combination.
