Verdict
Marabar, Ejay, Pirlie Hill and Finger of Fate look to be the principles in this banded stakes race to open the card and we will make Marabar the tentative choice. The mare from the David Chapman yard won well last time out at Wolverhampton when defeating Neutral Night. She is dropped slightly in trip here and does have a penalty for that success, but she looked as though she won with plenty in hand on that occasion so she could be worth sticking with now that she has struck form. Ejay finished second behind Foley Millennium at Kempton on heavy ground last time but will be suited by the step up in trip as she was staying on strongly at the finish in that race. Pirlie Hill would have chances on the pick of her form but she is inconsistent and not the most enthusiastic sort so she is passed over on this occasion. Finger of Fate faded after travelling strongly when third behind Rathmullen at Wolverhampton last week, so she might be worth considering and she could represent some each-way value in a tricky race for punters to call, but for the winner we return to Marabar.
