Verdict
Romil Star is given the confident nomination in this amateur riders' selling stakes, with El Pedro and Dundonald the best of the remainder. The selection hails from the in-form Karl Burke yard and is the only course and distance winner in the field. He is back on the flat after a run over hurdles, is dropped in grade and with a decent jockey booked he looks the one they all have to beat. El Pedro is a consistent sort and could represent the main danger. He was returning from a break when a beaten favourite before disappointing last time on this track. He is capable of going close here if he can get anywhere near his best form and he has to be on the shortlist. Dundonald ran well when a close third behind Leyaaly in a similar race to this at Wolverhampton last time, but he is not sure to be suited by the step up in trip and he is passed over for that reason. Misty Man is the other worth a second look and he could be interesting if he settles and is ridden more patiently than he was at Kempton last time when he finished sixth behind Unsuited. The market should be monitored for any further clues in an open affair, but Romil Star has plenty going for him here and is given the vote.
