In depth

Verdict

BAY CHERRY remains capable of better still and is fancied to see off Only The Best, Magnifico and Of Course. The selection was a bit disappointing at Doncaster earlier this month when he was pulled-up after making a bad jumping mistake four fences from home. He had previously been progressing well over fences and he can get his career back on track by winning on this first run over hurdles. Sphinx's second to Minella Boys reads well and the 12-year-old knows how to win, Magnifico handles soft ground well and never knows when he's beaten, whilst Only The Best looks to be on a very lenient mark on his second to Whats Up Woody and this former point-to-pointer could be a lot better than we have seen. Final Veto's third to Peters Star reads well in the context of this race and soft ground suits, Of Course showed plenty of battling qualities when winning at Carlisle last-time out, whilst Oniz Tiptoes is another who is in good nick and he should run well despite being just out of the weights. An open handicap, but narrow preference is for Bay Cherry.
