Verdict

Although backing horses with a penalty in bumpers is always a dangerous game to play, it is difficult to get away form the claims of Hirayana after her victory at Perth last time and the daughter of Doyoun is selected over Rogero and Sandal Saphire. The Mark Brisbourne-trained four-year-old showed that she had learnt greatly from her debut to forge away from her rivals to register a seven-length victory on the line at Perth. And although her penalty does make life tougher this time around, this is a very good opportunity to make her experience count. Moves for any of the newcomers will obviously be interesting though.
